Fire trucks on their way to Soledad!

On Friday, Aug. 27 the two Friendship Fire Trucks departed Burlington for Soledad de Graciano Sánchez. They had a proper send-off at Burlington City Hall with numerous dignitaries, reporters from the Burlngton Times-News and Channel 2 television, and many interested people. Speakers included Mexican Consul General for North Carolina Carlos Flores Vizcarra, Burlington Sister Cities President Dr. Janyth Frederickson, Councilman Steve Ross, Burlington Fire Chief Jay Smith, Alamance Rotary Club President Pete Beck, and Dr. Beth Powell, originator of the Fire Truck project. We are extremely privileged to have this opportunity to partner with the Rotary Foundation on this wonderful project and Soledad now has two fire trucks for their new fire station.
